LOOKING AFTER YOUR LEATHER GOODS
THE GOODS
You are in possession of an article meticulously conceived, designed and crafted to last for decades.
The leather used for this and every Burgundy Assemblage product is entirely natural and of excellent quality, as evidenced by the subtle variations in the tone, grain pattern, creases and markings in each piece. These distinctions are not defects or imperfections but celebrate the leather’s authenticity: no two pieces of natural leather are ever exactly alike.
Each swatch of leather we use is carefully selected for a specific design, function and lifestyle. To this end, we have a diverse selection of leathers serving as the foundation for our product line, including vegetable tanned, distress-aged, oil-pull, supple and pebbled grain. The product you are about to enjoy is therefore crafted with the leather intended to best complement your way of living.
To care for your Burgundy Assemblage goods, we suggest keeping it away from heat and water sources and storing in its own protective bag when not in use. In the event of light soiling, dab the leather with a dry soft cloth. Note that use of polish or beeswax, climatic conditions or extreme handling of the product may cause color alteration. We decline all responsibility for damages caused by unsuitable uses of our products.
Vegetable Tanned Leather
The vegetable tanned leather is specifically developed for Burgundy Assemblage's Pi Collection using only the finest quality natural hides. Full-grain leather has a character all its own, often displaying natural markings that lend beauty and refinement to the patina of this top quality material. Possible marks and scratches are to be seen as a natural part of the leather/product and cannot be regarded as a fault.
Distressed Leather
Distressed Leather is a sort of full grain leather with artificially aged using various techniques, natural imperfections in hide like scars and wrinkles have it a rough look, this type pf leather doesn't require any special tools or leather conditioner. To care for it, wipe the dirt and grime on distressed leather with a clean cloth.
Pure Cotton
Our signature Jonquil yellow lining is 100% cotton duck with pure finish. It is made from America Cone White Oak Denim and produced by a New York manufacturer with over 80 years of experience in producing high quality fabric. This manufacturer has worked with a prestige dye house that has been in existence since 1838 and is well-known for its ability to create highly saturated colors. Cotton duck, known outside the industry as canvas, is a heavy and durable cloth, woven with two-ply yarns in the warp and a single-ply yarn in the weft. Its sturdiness and longevity makes it the perfect lining for frequent-use bags.
Our Waxed canvas featured on Jeffery Backpacks is water-resistant by the coating itself. The cloth is densely woven, then completely saturated with wax, which naturally repels water. Over time, some of this wax will wear off, and as such it must be reproofed regularly. Should your Burgundy Assemblage pick up any marks while accompanying you, use a lightly dampened cloth or sponge with a little soap and water to clean off marks on the fabric and allow it to dry naturally.
